Fair Trade USA certifies companies who are helping to empower farmers and workers around the world.
Working with an ACT! system that couldn’t support their organizational processes beyond contact management, Fair Trade USA, the leading third-party certifier of Fair Trade products in the United States, needed a better way to manage and share data across all of their product partners and education programs. Fair Trade USA deployed the Sales Cloud to 80 employees in administration, business development, certification, marketing, and finance and consolidated lead and account information, tasks, activities, and workflows. They built custom objects to track their catalog of Fair Trade products, applications, certifications, and contracts and integrated salesforce with their QuickBooks and MIP accounting systems for complete account views. Additionally, they customized forecasts and dashboards for fast access to key metrics and added mobile access to let employees view records from wherever they are via iPhones and Blackberry devices. Finally, they also deployed a salesforce portal so that the more than 800 participating Fair Trade companies can review their account information and products, and log and track support tickets directly in Salesforce. With Salesforce, Fair Trade USA was able to quickly create a custom solution that has scaled as they have grown. They have seen Improved business planning and decision making with easy access to information and real-time updates, and they have been able to offer improved account service to their clients.
