SheratonAll conference activities will be held at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, just steps from the French Quarter and less than 5 miles from the beautiful Tulane University campus. Our room block at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel is completely full but there are several great hotels in the area. Please see a list of nearby hotels below:

Guest Transportation and Directions

Transportation from New Orleans Airport

You may reserve a shared ride service between the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel and Louis Armstrong International Airport through New Orleans Airport Shuttle. Rates are $20pp one way / $38pp roundtrip. Please call 504-522-3500 for information or make reservations online at least 24 hours prior to your flight departure time at: Sheraton New Orleans Hotel Airport Shuttle. Taxis are available outside of baggage claim and the average fare to the Sheraton New Orleands Hotel is $36 for 1 or 2 guests, $15 per person for 3 or more guests. For more ground transportation options please visit the Louis Armstrong International website at http://www.flymsy.com.

Streetcar Transportation

The Sheraton New Orleans Hotel is also located right on the Streetcar line which provides easy transit along Canal Street, St. Charles Avenue, and the Riverfront. One-way cost: $1.25. One, 3 and 5-day unlimited ride passes are also available for $5, $12 and $20 respectively. Should you need a cab during your stay, our Doormen or Bellmen will be happy to assist you.

Hotel Parking

Valet parking service is available for guests, the hotel does not offer self-parking. Vehicles are secured in a covered garage adjacent to the hotel. Due to limited space and height restrictions parking is available on a first-come-first-served basis and the hotel cannot accommodate oversized vehicles. Overnight guest rate is $40 + tax. Valet parking is provided by PMS, LLC.

Community Service Activity

Roots of MusicEach year at Higher Ed Summit it’s a custom to provide our attendees with an opportunity to give back to the community of our host city. This year we’ve partnered with the Roots of Music to give back to the community that they call home, by uniting Higher Ed Summit volunteers to clean up the streets and perform other acts of beautification in and around their facility in the historic Tremé neighborhood. This community service activity may include the following:
  • Touch up painting in various rooms
  • Outside cleanup & beautification of the building grounds
  • Inside cleanup of music and homework class rooms
  • Help sort and store uniform inventory
