Salesforce Pro Bono Volunteers Join The First Lady to Create New Solutions for Students!
By: Travis Fabian and Heidi Connal
Today a high school diploma is not enough. Students have to reach higher. That’s why First Lady Michelle Obama and her Reach Higher & Better Make Room initiatives have asked for our help creating and bringing transformative college readiness solutions to life. Through a radical collaboration of educators, students and partners, they launched this effort on The Teachers Guild on Tuesday, January 26.
The Teachers Guild believes teachers are the innovators that education has been waiting for, and in the next three years, they will bring educators together to solve 30 of the biggest challenges in education today. Through our community, educators can learn and do design thinking, make each other’s ideas even better, and collaborate with education, business, technology, and design partners who will connect them to pathways for their solutions to influence classrooms, schools, and beyond.
One of Salesforce.org’s key missions is to improve education in the world, and we do this through our focused grants for STEM education, the San Francisco Unified School District, and our higher education Salesforce customers. Now, our Salesforce employees are donating their pro bono time and will help collaborate with IDEO on how technology can help solve those 30 education challenges.
You’re invited to share this opportunity with us – whether you’re a teacher, an educational organization, a volunteer, or someone who just cares. Sign up for The Teachers Guild today and begin creating new post-secondary education solutions for students across the country. We look forward to seeing you on The Teachers Guild and creating together.
