The year 2020 has been a unique challenge for the world. The higher education sector was not immune to virus disruption, with teaching, research, and day-to-day operations pivoting quickly to reach some form of stability. Whatever tomorrow’s world may look like, one thing is already clear to us: the pandemic and its aftermath are a catalyst for digitalization.

The digital imperative at universities has increased dramatically. As we emerge from this crisis and evolve, we need to recognise the lessons learned, embrace the positive changes we’ve seen, and reimagine the next normal. This journey is best taken together, which is why we are seeking fellow change agents to join us as a member of the Salesforce.org Higher Education Advisory Council (HEAC). Nominations are open now through December 14.

The Salesforce.org Higher Education Advisory Councils are customer-led, and composed of volunteers who share best practices, answer questions, host events and site visits, provide demos, give product feedback, take reference calls, and connect community members by making introductions to peers and partners.

The Salesforce.org Higher Education Advisory Councils are customer-led.

When a few university and college representatives from Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) came together to create the first EMEA Higher Education Advisory Council for Salesforce.org, we did not know that our founding would be followed by this particular storm. We’ve ridden through the storm together and are better for all the sharing, support, and the humour our virtual collaboration has provided.

Inspired by our American elder sibling (the AMER HEAC), the EMEA HEAC was launched to collaborate, get to know each other better, network, and become a strong partner for Salesforce to develop future solutions for higher education customers across EMEA.

How can our Salesforce.org community best serve higher education institutions? That is the key question that leads our Council work. To maintain focus and momentum, the Council meets biweekly online, and in person at Higher Ed Summit Horizons. As the name states, the Council also advises Salesforce.org on Education Cloud solutions, covering topics across the entire student experience and the multi-faceted operations of a university. Members meet regularly with Salesforce.org leaders and staff, offering insight into the higher education industry and its needs.

Nominations for the EMEA Higher Education Advisory Council are open until December 14.

To qualify for membership, higher ed professionals should be active in the community. Council members post in the Power of Us Hub and Trailblazer Community, lead webinars, and present at Dreamforce, Higher Ed Summits, Salesforce World Tour events, community-organized events, and other higher education conferences.

Mirroring the diversity of the global higher education industry, our council members come from many different backgrounds. From technical to super user, to management and strategy-building, we welcome a diversity of knowledge and perspectives to enrich the council and our community-building missions.

Last but not least, passion is key! If you love being a champion for the industry or know someone who does, the EMEA HEAC is the group to join! Nominations are open now through Monday, December 14.
