Japan BizAcademy in summer 2013

On August 8th-9th,  salesforce.com staff from the Tokyo office held BizAcademy with Bridge for Smile(B4S). B4S supports young people who have grown up in children’s homes and are about to leave to live on their own. In total, seven high school students attended our program with sessions designed to teach them about the business sector and to help drive their careers.

2013年8月8日～9日、セールスフォース・ドットコム ファンデーションでは児童養護施設の子どもたちの自立支援に取り組む認定NPO法人ブリッジフォースマイルとパートナーシップを組み、青少年向けキャリア教育プログラムBizAcademyを実施しました。

2-day Program to Learn Real-World Business

”What is a company?” –  BizAcademy’s seven attendees learned about the different departments of a company and what their future might look like if they worked for a corporation.  Were you able to present your future vision and dream confidently when you were a high school student? These attendees did. They creatively and proudly shared their own ideas and thoughts and displayed their self-expression and communication skills.  Even the BizAcademy mentors got inspired and learned straight, honest communication from the students.

「会社ってどういうところ？」- BizAcademyに参加した7名の高校生は、営業、総務、人事、マーケティングの業務や責任について学び、自分の将来や適正について考えました。2日目には自分のやりたい業務についてプレゼン発表の時間も用意されています。皆さんは高校生の時に、自分のやりたいことについて意見をしっかり述べることができましたか？BizAcademyの生徒たちは自己を分析し、創造力あふれるプレゼンを見事に披露しました。どんな仕事も、自己表現と、周りとのコミュニケーションが大事です。それを自然に実践として学んだ2日間でした。ボランティアのメンターも彼らの発想力に刺激され、まっすぐな誠意ある表現力を一緒に学びまし た。

It was an exciting challenge for me to talk in a way the students could understand and, hopefully, for them to develop and interest in a Workplace services job.
