Introducing Salesforce Advisor Link, A New Salesforce.org Solution Designed for the Art of Advising

At Salesforce.org, we believe everyone who wants to change the world should have the tools and technology to do so. We believe our Higher Ed customers can benefit from the same engagement and productivity capabilities as the most competitive businesses in the world.
We have been working hard to gather feedback from the Higher Ed community to design an advising solution that delivers insights to both advisors and students, and gives the entire university community a unified way to drive student success. As such, we are thrilled to introduce Salesforce Advisor Link, an advising solution purpose-built for Higher Ed developed on the Salesforce platform.
Why did we build Salesforce Advisor Link? Great advisors are a school’s secret advantage — a linchpin in the student journey. But today, so many advisors are faced with navigating complex and siloed systems preventing them from having a 360° view of a student. Let’s not forget the student experience, too. Students face a variety of obstacles to success, from academic to emotional challenges. But as the student population continues to change — and “nontraditional students” become “traditional students,” there’s one thing we know students cannot do without: a sense of belonging. Even the power of a simple nudge reminding a student to register for class, complete a financial aid application, or schedule an advising appointment can increase the percentage of those who continue through graduation.
Advisor Link is going to transform advising in three main ways:
- First, by automating certain manual tasks, advisors can spend more time actually advising.
- Second, Advisor Link will provide provide analytics and insights to empower “data-informed advising.”
- Third, Advisor Link will help align the student’s community of support and affirm connectedness to their school.
And, of course, Advisor Link is built on the Salesforce platform. That means you can leverage Advisor Link with your existing Force.com-based Salesforce implementation, integrate with your Student Information or Learning Management System and extend it with compatible partner applications. It also means regular releases that deliver updates and new features to Advisor Link. in addition to those you already receive to your Salesforce instance. Some high level features for Advisor Link include success teams, advising notes, appointments, tasks and mass actions.
We’re putting all of that, plus the power of the Salesforce platform, in the hands of your advisors so they can work more efficiently, scale their impact, build trusted relationships and focus on what really matters: helping every student succeed through graduation and beyond.
“We rely on technology throughout our day…Salesforce enables us to spend less time searching for information and more time connecting with our students.”
– Myron Shaffer, Senior Academic and Career Advisor, Tulane University
