Fire Relief: Supporting our San Francisco Bay Area Neighbors

By Rob Acker October 12, 2017

Our hearts go out to our friends and neighbors who have been impacted by the wildfires devastating the communities in Napa, Sonoma and Mendocino counties and other areas of Northern California. We’re committed to helping these communities as much as we can.

We’ve set a goal to raise $2 million to support rebuilding and relief in the affected areas. Salesforce.org is donating $500,000 to support students and schools in need. We are encouraging Salesforce employees to raise an additional $500,000, to be matched through Salesforce.org’s matching grants program. In addition, Marc and Lynne Benioff are generously donating $500,000 to help us reach our goal.

We encourage everyone who wants to help to consider giving back to local organizations. The Community Foundation for Sonoma County and the Napa Valley Community Foundation are both focused on addressing the mid to long-term needs of the community, while the Redwood Credit Union Fund for North Bay Fire Relief is addressing immediate needs.

Tipping Point, the United Way, and Sonoma County Office of Education Fire Relief Fund are also collecting funds.

Because needs are shifting so rapidly, we encourage those interested in volunteering to register with the Red Cross or contact the Volunteer Center of Sonoma County.

We will continue to look for ways to help our neighbors in the coming weeks and months.

We want to thank our employees for quickly forming volunteer and donation committees, and for coming together to provide support in this time of tragedy.
