Coolest Project Award comes to Dublin in June!

Ireland can expect a serious amount of cool in its capital this summer. On June 13th, young coders from Ireland and around the world will fly in to the biggest Coolest Projects Awards yet at the RDS to showcase their IT skills. Expect cool apps, games, websites, robots and ‘hacks’ to make our lives run better.
Salesforce.org is delighted to announce that it is a Platinum Sponsor of this important initiative that offers coders aged 7 – 17 the chance to submit individual or group projects using their creativity and skills with computer languages and hardware to build cool apps, games, websites and robots.
“Salesforce is very proud to have the opportunity to help CoderDojo showcase the best projects globally in June, we will also support event with volunteers’ to help run event.” Cyril Treacy, Senior Director Solution Strategy, EMEA Salesforce.
The objective of The Coolest Projects Awards is to inspire creativity from within the global CoderDojo community, according to Noel King, Coolest Projects Leader and Champion at CoderDojo Dublin City University.
Salesforce.org has partnered with CoderDojo on a number of initiatives and runs regular dojos in its offices around the world. CoderDojo will also be present at our European Salesforce World Tour events which kicked off in Amsterdam in March.
”Coderdojo is a fun and interactive way of teaching technology to young people and is absolutely contagious and easy to implement. The goal of reaching 100K young people by 2016 will enable the Salesforce community to have a real impact in this area. Their all-inclusive approach, equal ratio of boys and girls and willingness to support both the developing economies and the Western World means that we can make the difference in any area we choose to support.” Elena Rossi, Senior Community Engagement Manager, Salesforce.org.
