Community Hero David Cheng
“I’ve asked lots of questions in the past, and now I’m here thanks to the help given by others.”
– David Cheng
We are celebrating the one year anniversary of the Power of Us HUB by recognizing 30 community members who have been instrumental in supporting the growing community of nonprofit and higher ed Salesforce users.
Today’s community hero is David Cheng (@OfficialDCheng), CRM Developer at Idealist Consulting. Communities benefit most from members who both ask and answer questions and David is known for asking useful questions to the benefit of everyone in the HUB. In addition, he has answered hundreds of questions and has been particularly supportive of the Foundation free Nonprofit Starter Pack App. He even contributed to the technical development of the Nonprofit Starter Pack at one of its developer sprints. David’s community efforts were first recognized in Spring 2013 when he became a salesforce.com MVP (he was renewed this past Spring). Cheers David for all you do!
Who are you (in 250 words or less)?
“I’m a Salesforce developer and also experienced in Salesforce implementation, data migration and application integration. Before Salesforce, I provided server and desktop support for the private sector and nonprofits. I served on the board of directors of a nonprofit chamber music ensemble for 10 years in Washington DC.”
How long have you been working with Salesforce products?
What quick tip would you give someone getting started with Salesforce?
“When you click on a tab and see no data, don’t panic. Just select a list view and click Go.”
As a thank-you for all David has done for the community over the last year, the Foundation is donating $250 to a nonprofit of his choosing.
