Changemaker Correspondent Amelia Old visits Georgetown University

By Salesforce.org July 10, 2019

“It is better to see something once than to hear about it a thousand times.”

Amelia Old doesn’t just love to travel – she lives for travel. As the owner of Passports from the Heart, she shares her passion for travel and philanthropy. Through stories, photos, and videos, she hopes to encourage people to travel off the beaten path while immersing themselves in the cultures of the places they are visiting. She also hopes to inspire travelers to become involved within their own communities and beyond by volunteering for organizations they feel most passionate about.

She was named one of the 2017 – 50 Most Influential Women by the Mecklenburg Times. She currently serves as a board member for Tosco Music, is a Champion for the UN Foundation’s [email protected] Campaign, and an avid supporter of Cancer for College. In 2016/17, she played a role in raising over $50,000 for Louisiana Flood Relief with Activation ReACT.

Amelia recently completed the trek to Everest Base Camp with her husband, all while raising over $20,000 for charity. Her work combining travel while giving back was recently highlighted on Forbes.com. She lives by the motto “I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything; but still I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.”
