ALONE Centralizes Data using Salesforce

ALONE is an independent Irish charity that works with the 1 in 5 older people who are homeless, socially isolated, living in deprivation or in crisis. They began using Salesforce in 2012 specifically for fundraising and then after team discussions later that year, decided to rollout Salesforce across all their programmes, a task that was completed in 2013.
“We formed a working group to review various CRMs and specific case-management systems designed for nonprofits and felt that Salesforce was the best fit,” explains Sean Moynihan – Chief Executive Officer, ALONE.

ALONE’s Befriending Service
The organisation provides Supportive Housing, Befriending, Community Response and Campaigning services to hundreds of older people in Ireland every week. They receive no Government funding for their day-to-day activities and rely solely on public donations to continue their work. ALONE’s services are quality approved and delivered 365 days a year. They operate with a ratio of 1 staff member to every 18 volunteers.
Before using Salesforce, ALONE was tracking programs, volunteers, community groups and fundraising activities using paper-based methods and Excel spreadsheets. This approach was in-efficient and made it difficult to manage communications and processes effectively. The team at ALONE wanted to introduce a technology that would allow them to centralize their data and give all team members access to up to date information at any time, and on any device.
“For our programmes, Salesforce enables staff to access important information from outside the office, meaning staff can be a lot more mobile – and use their time more efficiently. It also ensures that case notes are up to date, centralized and available to all case workers.
“The main problem it helps us solve is making all the information accessible in real time, mobile and accessible to all the team. It also helps with our data protection and to gather statistics on our programmes.
“Salesforce also ensures our fundraising and campaigns are targeting the correct people and organisations. As we monitor the level of communication the donor receives from us, we can manage relationships more effectively,” Sean Moynihan – Chief Executive Officer, ALONE.
ALONE is one of the thousands of nonprofits benefiting from the Salesforce Power of Us program. Have you signed up? Check out the details here and start powering your mission with Salesforce Technology.
